What is Poverty?
Poverty is a condition that deprives basic human needs, including food, safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, health, shelter, education and information. It depends not only on income but also on access to social services.
Poverty is denial of choices and opportunities, a violation of human dignity. It means lack of opportunities to participate effectively in a society, having enough education, health care, obtain a job and earn a good living. It represents insecurity, powerlessness and exclusion of individuals, households and communities to susceptibility and violence, and it often implies living on marginal or fragile environments, without access to clean water or sanitation.
Poverty Reduction Begins with Children
Since 1987, the number of people in developing countries other than in East Asia and the pacific were earning less than $1 a day. The poverty has increased by 12 million people a year. In many countries the extreme poverty has left poor people further behind. The evidence is compelling. The 1990 census shows a widening gap between rich & poor countries and between rich & poor people. Both in terms of income and social outcomes.
Our Aim:
Humanity First’s goal is to improve the quality of life for the world’s poorest and vulnerable societies:

Our aim is to create a world of healthy, educated and happy children who have clean water to drink, fresh air to breathe and have equal opportunities for better life.
We plan to achieve our objectives by investing in basic social services for needy children and their families.
